Since the launch of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a wide array of heroes, and a thrilling plot including celestial beings, evil spirits, and malevolent powers increasing in influence within Dol-Makjar.
Warning: Revealing details for the latest installment of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
The third episode ended with a major cliffhanger and revealed the first table of characters who will separate from the central cast to embark on their independent quest, apart from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team includes Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis Willingham), the agile character (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
Considering a large ensemble, it was obvious from the beginning that having everyone at one table would be impossible.
Hence, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Overture, weaving together the individual narratives before branching into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Strategists, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
According to the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for participants who are drawn to a classically intense fight-heavy story mode where peaceful solutions are rare.
Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might appear mismatched, but the events of the third episode show why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the party understands precisely where to proceed after a violent initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose death initiated the campaign’s events—used the enemy for his selfish purposes, invading the secret base, striking Thimble, and stealing all the enchanted items to dispose of.
Casimir then cleared his obligations and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each adventurer has a specific drive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as the companion and trusted friend, seeks vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure knows the northern area and cautions that it is a nasty place.
- Tyranny and The healer, having disobeyed his house’s orders to eliminate Teor and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their status as key figures in the powerful family could enable the party access places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, The fighter swore a life debt to Wicander for his rescue and will now accompany him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the authorities that govern Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- Thimble and The character are known criminals.
- The strong figure and The cleric defied the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- Teor is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This leaves them no alternative but to journey toward Timmony in search of Casimir.
What’s Next?
According to episode three’s follow-up content, we find out that the warrior group won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight cast members to form the Questers and Strategists tables.
Fans can look forward to finding out which adventurers will be in which group in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, released on the upcoming Thursday.
